1960’s

During the 1960’s, while working as General Manager for the Fuller Brush Company in Puerto Rico, Venancio Lópéz established the North Janitorial Services Company in Puerto Rico.

1970’s

In the 70s, now also owner of Fuller Group Puerto Rico, he continues to grow his business in Puerto Rico.  As with Fuller, his trademark was the “Handshake Deal”. Venancio always kept his word; he had very loyal customers who knew they could count on him.  If he committed his word and honor, he would always stand by it, no matter the outcome.

1979

In 1979, in addition to North Janitorial Services, Venancio forms Antilles Cleaning Services. Antilles Cleaning Services becomes Fuller Group’ flagship company in Puerto Rico, in good part due to the high-profile clients it serves.

Initially Fuller Group provides janitorial services to the electronic companies (GE, GTE, Westinghouse, Sylvania, etc.) relocating to the island. When the second wave, Pharmaceutical Companies, arrive, Fuller Group was ready.

1990’s

Eli Lily was Fuller’s first pharmaceutical client in the early 1990s.   The company negotiated with the headquarters of J&J in New Jersey for multiple sites on the island.  Today Fuller Group has a 70% market share in Life Sciences in Puerto Rico.

2000’s

Mr. Jorge López (Venancio’s son) has been working with Fuller Group since 2001 and took over as CEO since 2010.

Current Day

Since the 90’s Fuller Group has maintained Eli Lily and J&J as clients; and has added new clients such as Amgen, Medtronic’s, Lufthansa Technique, Honeywell, Hamilton-Sundstrand a subsidiary of UTC.  A major difference between Fuller and its competitors in the industry is that, whereas most service providers maintain their clients on average for 5 years, Fuller Group has maintained its contract, since its inception, with J&J for over 24 years, Eli Lily for over 27 years, and Amgen for over 16 years.

The result of these long-term relationships is that Fuller Group becomes part of its customers total business service and has adopted pharmaceutical industry strategies including, continuous improvement programs, cost reduction programs, business process redesign, and others.  Fuller currently provides these customers with more services at lower total real costs than when they were first signed on.
